Yesterday the Sparta Fire Department took delivery of a new 2020 Pierce Pumper. This engine was a stock unit which gave us the ability to purchase it at a reduced price saving money but at the same time still providing the community with a safe and reliable piece of equipment for many years to come. This new engine will be replacing the department 1996 E-one/HME pumper.
Over the next couple of weeks we will be transferring equipment from the old engine over to the new one, as well as completing an in-service training class from the manufacture.
This purchase would not have been possible without the continued support of the community (THANK-YOU). I would also like to thank the Fire Board, Halt Fire Equipment -Ed Levy and the dedicated employees of the Sparta Fire Department for helping with this purchase.
